What I’ve Done
Many of my current projects are unannounced, but you can find some examples of my work here.
Reigns: The Witcher
I led the writing and narrative design on Reigns: The Witcher, the latest entry in the Reigns series, set within the world of CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher. As a longtime fan of CDPR’s games, working alongside their lore and writing teams to distil the conflicts of the Continent down to one of our pithy little worlds was a lovely challenge.
I also led on the writing of marketing copy for the title, and conducted numerous interviews and press briefings, such as with Rock Paper Shotgun and on The Witcher’s YouTube channel.
The Crush House
I wrote dialogue, in-world text and song lyrics (!) for The Crush House, a “thirst person shooter” in which you film contestants vying for attention on a 1999 reality TV show. This project drastically broadened my knowledge of third-wave ska music.
The Crush House won the IndieCade Jury Prix Award, featured in The New York Times, and was described in the Guardian as “easily the funniest game I’ve played all year”.
Reigns & Reigns Beyond
I wrote new storylines for content updates on the original Reigns and Reigns Beyond. It’s been endless fun working with Francois Alliot, Reigns’ creator. Like all great narrative games, Reigns has a really distinctive and consistent style of narrative presentation, and writing for it is an enjoyable puzzle in itself, having to present in barely more than a sentence a surprising premise, a head-scratching dilemma and a pair of equally tempting choices.
Reigns was nominated for Best Mobile Game at BAFTA, the GDC Awards, and the D.I.C.E. Awards.
